Magdalena & Central Andes – Tolima (Estelar & Iguaima)

This is a wonderful trip, to one of the most biodiverse areas of central Andes; The Tolima department – Ibagué City. This tour allows you, to explore easily some of the best locations for birding (El Nevado del Tolima National Park) in Dry, Humid and Cloud Forest between 400 to 2800 MSL. You will stay in wonderful hotels, in where you will enjoy the birds around and other attractions as pools, garden, and easy paths. This tour is perfect if you do not want to move from one place to another to see many birds in a little time.

There is no physically demanding activity and the hikes will be on flat and open roads. If an interesting bird is found, then we might explore the interior of the forest or attempt to enter a trail for a very short distance. The day starts with breakfast usually at 6:30 am leaving to field around 7:00 am. On days when we are not driving, we will offer a midday break and a birding resume for a few hours in the afternoon. Every hotel gives you the choice to join the birding group or to stay in the facilities enjoying the birds around as well as other attractions like pools, gardens, and trails among others.

The tour is designed for beginners to intermediate bird watchers and those desiring some easy pace trip. Here, birding is at the leisure of the client´s wishes and pace.
